Meet Gary Willis: skilled chiropractor in Glossop
After leaving school in 2000, Gary’s practical interests drew him towards a course in the plumbing trade. An apprenticeship followed in 2002, and in 2006 he qualified as a plumbing and heating engineer, before setting up the business he’d go on to run for 18 years.
By 2009, lifting heavy boilers and radiators had taken a toll on Gary’s lower back – a problem not exactly helped by hard landings taken while paragliding from favourite local hill Mam Tor.
Seeking relief for pain and limited mobility, Gary approached a chiropractor, opted for treatment, and was staggered by the relief he felt after just one session.
In 2015, still fascinated by his experience of chiropractic, Gary decided to retrain and enrolled with Manchester’s McTimoney College of Chiropractic. He began his chiropractic course (MChiro) in the same year. Gary qualified in 2020 and has worked with a team of chiropractors in Oldham ever since, while also seeing patients in his home clinic.
Having opened Glossop Chiropractic Clinic, Gary is now available to treat people of all ages, locally and beyond. He enjoys a reputation among peers for the accuracy of his assessments and diagnoses, and the time he takes to fully understand an issue before moving on to treatment. He’s highly skilled in several chiropractic techniques – Diversified, McTimoney and soft tissue work – which means he can adapt his approach to suit each individual client and their needs.
Beyond work, Gary has swapped paragliding for climbing, mountain biking and tinkering with things in the shed at the bottom of his garden. He lives here in Glossop with his partner Claudia and their two children.
